We were celebrating my mothers 80th birthday. As we live in Teesside, Leeds and Nottingham we wanted somewhere central. There were 8 adults us in our party so we booked the 4 bedroom cabin. The cabin was spacious with 2 bathrooms. It was surprisingly warm. Lots of crockery and glasses. The dish washer was a boon, we did not need to use the washing machine but for families this would be a bonus. Food and drink at the Foresters was of a good standard and a reasonable price. The park is well laid out, plenty of space around the cabins. Very quiet and peaceful. The location is excellent, we visited Bakewell and Lathkildale and the Crich Tramway Museum and would recommend all of them. We would return if we were booking another family holiday. Mrs M, Stockton-on-tees, Cleveland 20 March 2011
Fantastic weekend, my seven year old decided it was the best holiday park she had ever been to. Top quality accommodation and facilities in a glorious setting. Mr M, Walsall, West Midlands 08 March 2011
I thought Darwin Forest Park was a wonderful location for a family break. The standard of accommodation was far superior to other locations. Ms K, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Tyne And Wear 03 March 2011
Our two Hassop, lodges were excellent. Each lodge was well kitted out, plenty of storage space, two bathrooms, plenty of seating, far better than what we have had with other companies. The facilities such as the children's play area were well used by our family with 3 babies and 4 youngsters in the party. They really enjoyed the indoor play zone and pool. The food in the cafe was good and reasonably priced. The restaurant also had a menu to suit us all and they catered superbly for the 18 of us on the Saturday evening. Mr W, Port Talbot, West Glamorgan 02 March 2011
Last year we went to Center Parcs and it was very big and we felt we were running to different places to make the most of our stay. This year being at Hoseasons we were far more relaxed. We went to Bakewell Farmers Market then came back to swim and Little Monkeys. Then we went and has a treatment and finally we went to the little Pub on site, had a lovely meal, played Bingo (we never do that) and joined in the quiz. I have already recommended this holiday and we've only been home a day. Thank you to all the staff. Mrs C, Birmingham, West Midlands 02 February 2011
A fantastic park to stay at!!! Excellent facilities, would highly recommend!! Mrs R, Leicester 01 December 2010

Lovely place for a young family. Mr A, Oxford, Oxfordshire 27 September 2010
This park was full - but nowhere was very busy that you were bustling for space. Accommodation was clean and modern and very comfortable, like a home from home. Lots for the kids to do. Enjoyed this holiday very much and will be going again. Ms M, HAYWARDS HEATH 07 September 2010
Our party ranged from aged 60, through the thirties and twenties, down to 6 months. We were all catered for: i.e the swimming pool, the pub on site, the therapies offered and the baby equipment hired. All requests were responded to with wonderful swiftness by the friendly staff. Mrs B, KINGS LANGLEY, Hertfordshire 05 September 2010
We have just come back from a wonderful week with our friends. We stayed in a lodge, which was spacious for the 6 of us and it had all the facilities we could of asked for. Along with many things, the lodge made the holiday for us. The park itself was set in lovely surroundings and was very clean and well kept. The kids loved the swimming pool and my five year old son loved the mini golf. We didn't actually eat in the Forresters Inn, but spent every night in the pool area, which had 4 tables in there so could always get a game. The park is near to all the areas that we wanted to visit. We would thorougly recommend going to Darwin Forest Country Park and would definitely go back again. Mrs C, RUSHDEN, Northamptonshire 17 August 2010
The quailty of the lodge accommodation gives very good value for money and was very clean. The swimming pool on site was very nice too, especially for non swimming children as the depth was the same across the pool allowing the adults to stand in every part of the pool. Mrs F, LEICESTER 24 July 2010

Darwin Forest is the perfect getaway! Is has everything to offer - a fantastic pub with great pub style food, and lovely shops with all the essentials plus a lot more. Lovely surroundings, and set in a ideal part of the Peak District. We came with our two dogs and it was heaven for them! We have been twice now and will definitely be back!!! Nice to be close to nature but still have the modern convenience available. MRS H, Doncaster, South Yorkshire 29 July 2009
The lodge was very spacious, and there was 8 of us. It was extemely well "kitted" out, with a washing machine, a dishwasher and full size fridge/freezer in the kitchen area. The cleaniless of the facilities was excellent, particularly the swimming area. Mr C, KILMARNOCK 19 July 2009
Darwin Forest is a first class park with plenty to do, but also very peaceful and relaxing - highly recommended. Mrs S, REDCAR, Cleveland 30 June 2009
This park near Matlock was ideal for a large group of various ages. We ranged from 11 to 80, and everyone enjoyed themselves and used some of the facilities. The younger adults and teenagers went off in groups to swim, play tennis or ride bikes. The older ones visited the coffee shop and played pool and table tennis. Mrs B, BATHGATE, West Lothian 23 June 2009
A great location and a good of standard accommodation. Lots to see and do in the area, very relaxing and peaceful and we enjoyed the short walks through the forest. Mr B, WARRINGTON 20 June 2009
I have always enjoyed my Hoseasons lodge holidays but this park was so much better than any I have been to so far. The park, the lodge, the staff, the whole place felt so chilled and relaxed. Nothing was too much trouble and the overall standards where very high. I am going to book another holiday there as soon as possible! Mrs K, LIVERPOOL 17 June 2009
Our lodge at Darwin Forest Country Park proved to be ideal for our family of sevens March weekend break. The lodge was clean, warm and cosy and the size, layout and facilities of the lodge proved to be ideal, which was important to us as our grandson aged 14 months was one of the party. We enjoyed the indoor swimming pool and the surrounding woodland walks. Mrs K, Leicester, Leicestershire 09 March 2009
